About the site...
The Cornerstones website is three sites in one. Choose the one that best interests you:
Within our site you will find science books and book reviews for all ages and interests. Our focus is selecting the best literature in the sciences, and science-related topics such as natural history, human civilization, and ethics.
Links are provided to recommended web sites, teacher resources, scholarships, citizen science opportunities, and current events. Upcoming programs by leading scientists and science authors can be found on our calendar.
Search our book & DVD lists by author, topic, title, and grade or reading level. Send us your comments about the books you read by clicking on our "submit a book review" link.
Students in Grades 3-12 are invited to enter our annual Read, Write & Win contest. And be sure to check out our science games.
Cornerstones of Science (CoS) is the award-winning national science literacy organization based in Brunswick, Maine. Our mission is to connect children, teens, and adults to science and technology through superb books & programs in current scientific issues. To achieve our mission we partner primarily with public libraries - the centers of community learning - throughout Maine and the US.
CoS is made possible through the generous support of CoS founder Lee Grodzins, American Science & Engineering, Maine & national foundations and businesses, and contributions from individuals like you.
We hope you will become part of our growing Cornerstones of Science community.
