Water Hole Waiting
by Jane & Christopher Kurtz

Book Review
I thought the book Water Hole Waiting by Jane and Christopher Kurtz was a good book. It shows how the animals that live on the African savanna go to the water hole to drink. It also has incredible paintings by Lee Christiansen, which appear to be popping out at you.

This book is about a mother monkey and her baby. It shows how the mother monkey is protective of her baby and pulls on his ear whenever the baby insists on going to the water hole to get a drink. Water Hole Waiting has a lot of strengths. The way they worded it, they used simpler words instead of more complex words that a fifth grader can’t understand and pronounce. Also the paintings are amazing. In fact, I don’t think this book has any weaknesses. The text in the book is clear and well presented. The paintings are full page, clear, and detailed.

I really enjoyed this book and I would give it 4.75 stars out of 5 stars. I would suggest this book to first to fifth graders because the story and the way it is presented would be entertaining to children in this age group. I would suggest this book to all my friends, especially if they are interested in the African savanna.
