Warped Passages
Unraveling the Mysteries of the Universe's
Hidden Dimensions
by Lisa Randall

Annotation
Lisa Randall is a leading theoretical physicist. Her work is pushing the frontier of what we know about the universe and is among the most cited in all of science. When she began writing Warped Passages she "...envisioned a book that shares the excitement I feel about my work without compromising the presentation of the science." She also hoped to show that physics is creative and fun, and accessible to the curious minded. So she designed a format for her book that is also creative, fun and accessible. Abstract ideas and key concepts are introduced through metaphor and the familiar in the form of a very short story at the beginning of each chapter. Quotes head each chapter...you''ll hear from The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Bob Dylan, and even an excerpt from the Rocky Horror Picture Show. This is not your stereotypical physics book. Give it a try. You'll be surprised by the places you will go.
