The North Pole Was Here:
Puzzles and Perils at the Top of the World
by Andrew C. Revkin

Annotation
Revkin journeyed to the North Pole with a team of scientists whose mission was to collect data to help solve the mystery of Arctic warming. His adventure is documented in this book through Revkin’s travelogue style account, copies of his articles to The New York Times, and color pictures which adorn almost every page. Chapter three highlights the history of exploration of the North Pole - the pictures are in black-and-white and sepia. 128 pages. Includes source notes, suggested reading, internet resources, an index, and a metric conversion chart. Recommended for youth and teens. Adults will find the book of interest too.
