Book Review

This book takes five basic animal functions: locomotion, reproduction, seeking prey, self defense and symbiosis, and discusses the wide variety of methods used by animals. I particularly enjoyed the photographs, which are spectacular, and the engaging text. The book would be improved by a glossary.

I recommend this book as a good read for Junior High readers with a basic background in biology. It is enjoyable, generally easy to read, and compelling but should remain a nominee, not a cornerstone.
