The Truth About Great White Sharks
by Mary Cerullo

Book Review

The book I chose to write about is called The Truth About Great White Sharks, written by Mary M. Cerullo, a Maine author, with photographs by Jeffrey L. Rotman, also from Maine.

I chose this book because I want to learn more about great white sharks. I learned a lot about great whites because of this book. I gained a new perspective on the subject and I want to learn more!

Here are the 1st five facts I learned about great white sharks: they have a conveyor belt of teeth, when one falls out another grows in it's place; great white sharks have armored skin so hardly anything can bite through it; sharks have five senses, they are smell, taste, sight, touch and hearing; the sharks are extremely sensitive to electrical current; and they can find fish even if the prey is buried in the sand!

I would gladly rate this book at 41/2 stars because of the exceeding detail! This book had the best and clearest photos of sharks I have ever seen! The other 1/2 star loss was due to the sickening photos on page 37, YUCK! I would probably rate this a minimum of a 2nd grade level and a maximum of an 8th grade level and I would greatly recommend this to my friends and class. I truthfully, absolutely this book; The Truth About Great White Sharks is on my top five favorite book list!
