Outside and Inside Kangaroos
by Sandra Markle

Book Review

Outside and Inside Kangaroos by Sandra Markle is part of a science series on animals
for elementary age children. Each of the books follows the same pattern. They all should be Cornerstones books.

I thought this book was interesting because it had lots of facts about kangaroos. For example, the joey, a baby kangaroo, has to climb up the mother’s fur into a special pouch. A lot of babies do not survive because they fall off the fur. If a predator is coming, the mother gives a signal to the joey and the baby does a complete somersault in the air and lands in the pouch. The large color photographs were taken in the kangaroos’ natural habitat in Australia. There is a review section and a glossary at the end.

This spectacular 5-star book I would recommend to all my friends who want to learn
about kangaroos.
