Bats, Bugs, and Biodiversity
by Susan E. Goodman

Book Review

Bats, Bugs, and Biodiversity by Susan E. Goodman is about a group of nine American students who travel into the Amazonian rain forest of Peru.

The students meet the local people and learn about the way they live. They use ropes to climb into the tree canopy where they study the local plants and animals. The photographs are bright and colorful. The 14-year-old students thought that the rain forest meant nothing but when they studied it, they found out that it means a lot. The reader can follow the story in an organized way because it feels like you are there on the trip. The book has a long glossary and a list of books for further reading.

I would recommend this 5-star book to kids in grades 4 through 8.
